Primary Care

Well-child visits are a primary care visit that help keep children healthy and ready to learn. This is a great time to check in with your child’s provider on their growth progress and any concerns shared by your center’s health advocate regarding vision, hearing, or other concerns. Inform your health advocate on your child’s visit so they can provide resources that complement your child’s needs.

Dental Care

Good dental health helps our bodies stay healthy! Fluoride is a mineral found in soil, water, and even some foods and beverages that helps prevent tooth decay and keeps bones strong. This is why fluoride is often added to toothpaste and public drinking water (CDC).

Dental visits are important to prevent tooth decay. According to the CDC, approximately 23% of children between ages 2–5 have dental caries (cavities) in primary teeth. Oral hygiene habits practiced in childhood have a big impact on adult teeth, too! Not just brushing and flossing, but diet has an important role as well. Ensuring your child has a balanced diet low in sugar will help set up their smile for life.
